                              Week of March 25th

Dear Parents,

With Easter break next week, we will be finishing up chapter six and taking our chapter tests this week.  We have started a great new novel called Mr. Popper’s Penguins and can’t wait to see what happens next.  Trimester three is moving along and we are looking ahead to finishing the year strong. Please remember next week is our Indian Hills field trip.  It’s going to be a great week!

Indian Hills field Trip: We will be traveling by bus to Indian Hills Campground in Jamul on Tuesday, March 26th.  It will be a day of outdoor learning.  Students will need to wear their red polo with the logo.  Uniform bottoms or jeans are allowed. Closed toed shoes must be worn.  A jacket is also encouraged as long as it has the LFCS logo on it. Please send a disposable lunch with a water, as lunchboxes are not allowed.   It’s going to be a great trip!

Chaperones please arrive by 8:15 as we will be leaving at 8:30. Please wear comfortable walking shoes.  Chaperones will also need a disposable lunch and water.  Please bring a backpack you can carry student lunches in as well.   Thank you so much for going with us!

Olympics: Olympics are coming April 12th! This is a school wide event and parents are encouraged to attend.  It will last the entire half day.  This is a very fun event where mixed grade level teams compete against each other.  Please make sure your student is dressed up in their team apparel and ready to compete.  Teams are posted on the wall in the first grade hallway.  Parents are welcome to attend and cheer on their student.  For more information, please check the wall in the first grade hallway.
